The Story Behind These Cakes
I wanted to make cakes that make you stop, think, and notice. Where you take a bite and something unexpected happens — something that makes you pleasantly curious, asking yourself "wait, what flavor is that?" Intentionally unexpected combinations for an elevated sweet treat. $110. Made to order. Nothing ordinary.
Each flavor is being tested in my kitchen before it ever reaches yours. When they're ready they'll be made to order, 6-inch, and I really hope you love them as much as I love making them.
Every cake in Lydia Bloom & Butter Boutique is made with the intention of being visibly different — unique and unexpected in all the best ways. These are not flavors chosen from a list. They are intentional combinations made for when you're feeling curious, adventurous, and ready for something entirely out of the ordinary.
Each 6-inch cake is made entirely by hand, one at a time, for the person who ordered it. Nothing is baked before it is needed. Nothing is made without care.
Limited Spots
These six cakes exist right now only in my imagination. They are flavor combinations I have built entirely in my head — layered, tested in theory, and obsessed over on paper. Before they become real cakes, I want to make them real with real people at the table.
As a Founding Tester you pay only the cost of ingredients — no markup, no labor charge. Some of these flavors use specialty ingredients that are genuinely expensive (saffron, pistachio paste, yuzu), so costs vary by cake. In return I ask for honest feedback and permission to photograph the cake.
You get to taste something that doesn't exist yet. I get to build it with you. Everyone wins.
Spots are very limited — one tester per flavor. Pickup in Acton, MA.
